Review and Approve via the Content Builder Approval Tool
When an email is ready for review and approval, an approval request email will be sent to the Reviewer(s).
- From the email, click 'Review'.
- If you're signed in, the email will open. If you are logged out, you will have to log in first.
- The email will render on the right side of the screen. To the left, you will see the Comment Section.

- To make a note, click the location on the email you are referencing and type your note on the left side of the screen.
- To check and verify data, click the people icon.
- Toggle through up to 1,000 records by clicking the left or right arrows.
- Any variable data will populate the email on the right.
- Continue until satisfied with all records in the data.
- To check links, click the "Check links" button.
NOTE: You cannot check the system-generated links, view in browser and unsubscribe. - If comments were made that require the email to be edited, click 'Submit Comments' in the Actions drop-down located in the upper right of the approval canvas.
- If there are no further changes and the data is verified, click 'Approve'.
Get to the Approval Tool without an Email Link
From Marketing Cloud, hover over the Cloud in the upper left to access the main navigation bar.
Find Content Builder, hover here and click 'Approvals'. You will be taken to the Approvals dashboard, where you can find the email(s).
Approvals Dashboard
The Dashboard lists all your Approvals emails in a grid with sortable and customizable columns. From the here, you can create a new Approval or access pending approvals.
